I have finally had some time to write a review on Scotland Rocks 2018.
18-months ago I decided I wanted to organise a BIG line dance weekend in Scotland so that's what I did, I pulled out all the stops, and I wanted the best line dance talent on the planet.
I called this weekend 'Scotland Rocks', and just to give you an idea of how a 'Rocks' weekend works, we start the event early on the Friday at 1:00pm and ends at 4:00pm on Sunday. This means you still get two nights accommodation but simply you get more time to do the workshops and/or social dance.
We stayed at the Erskine bridge in Glasgow, Scotland, I must say the staff were very efficient and they worked so hard to accommodate the dancers. The food was absolutely lovely, I can't fault it at all. Drinks were a little pricey, but what hotel isn't expensive for drinks!.
As I mentioned above I wanted super talent on this event and I am very pleased with my selection. I must say a MASSIVE thank you to the following people below who worked so hard on this dance weekend!
Choreographers: Gary O'Reilly, Peter Metelnick, Alison Biggs, Nev Fitzgerald, Julie Harris, Willie Brown, Jose Miguel Belloque Vane
Live Music: Nikky Napier & Darren Flack from Calico
Our DJ: Gary Lafferty
And without the perfect dance floor then no one would be dancing, so a BIG thank you to Pedro Machado and his amazing dance floor.
As a dancer you don't see all the work behind the scenes trust me there is a Sh!t load of stuff, most things go smoothly but there are times where things go wrong lol, honestly really wrong. we obviously had very high winds on this weekend and very nearly Gary O'Reilly never made it over. We also had a few technical issues so thanks to Ronnie and Maggie Harrison for their help and support, you were a great help!.
We had amazing workshops and you know they were all fantastic dances, I'm actually struggling to know what order to teach them in as I want to do them all ..
